Cover of Church Heating Principes document

Fabric Commissions guiding principle No. 5

However, for the majority of churches, focusing on keeping people comfortable will be a better approach than trying to warm the whole space

Spaces are large, ceilings high and warm air rises. Comfort can be increased through reducing heat loss from the building, from simple “soft” changes such as cushions, mats and door curtains, through temporary or permanent partitions, and through localised heating such as panel heaters or pew heaters.

How Cooltouch Heaters can help

Cooltouch Heaters Ltd.'s objective is to warm the congregation for the duration of a service whilst avoiding heating the vast volume of air above their heads.

Having warm shins and ankles can go a long way towards making people feel comfortable.
